Stainlesss, catch and release from another member here. I don't see where he used it, and neither did I. It has a strong, 6-7, pull with excellent snap. Half-stop on this one is a nice 'safety' feature, LOL. Your check is fine if imprinted with your physical address, or a Postal M/O
