Is there any other particular uses for this size steel other than filets and kitchen blades? I have a good 3 feet of .07 Aeb-L that Id like to put to use. I'm just not a big kitchen knife guy, and my first fillet didn't turn out so well because of the short grind.
Any suggestions would be great

Make the wife a matched set of steak knives, and a couple of paring knives. She'll LOVE them..... gets you good points {g}

I was thinking a couple steak knives for the house as I literally just snapped one in our set this week. Lol. Slip joint sounds like an interesting project too. I'll have to research a little more on those.

you could try making a couple kiridashi

I use thin AEB-L for slip joints they get nasty sharp!

I've never actually finished the first folder I started. Had troubles with the hardware. I may look into a slip joint. But in the mean time I might bust out a few kiridashis =D

I make a little neck knife (2" blade, epoxy-soaked paracord-wrapped handle) that's 1/8" at the thickest on the spine, because that's the thickness I start with. Some people have said that the spine is a little too thick for them. A similar pattern might work for your stock and would probably come out just about right. 4.5-5" oal. Not sure if I embedded the photo right, but if you copy and paste the link, it'll take you to a pic.
