I'm in. Usually just to lengthen everyone else's odds. Love the little Esquire.

Below is a message I just sent off to Mark. I wanted to publicly acknowledge his kindness and let everyone know that the knife arrived safely. It also looks much better than in any web pic I've ever seen. The chestnut jiggiing glows with light.

Mark:

Yesterday I returned after traveling 2+ weeks away from home. I saw that the Esquire had arrived at my mailbox, but in catching up with life I didn't have time or bandwidth to open that package with the proper attention and respect it deserved. This evening I did. I took the time to properly savor the experience.

I must say that I'm blown away; first, by your incredible generosity at giving away a brand-new GEC knife--what amazing kindness. Second, by the quality of the Esquire itself. It is truly pocket jewelry--a real gem. I have three Case Peanuts and a GEC Conductor. Each is good: I like their small sizes and they work well for me. But the Esquire, with its neat sleeveboard construction, is more elegant and jewel-like. I think that the regular, diagonal-ish jigging helps with that impression as well. I honestly don't know why I didn't jump on one when they first came out, but I didn't and now I see that I missed out. I'm so happy to have received this Esquire, and so happy I will forever associate it with you Mark.

Thanks again. I will send you a proper thank you letter by mail, but I wanted you to know that the knife arrived safely and that I am very appreciative.

Sincerely,
Robb

Congrats Robb and thanks for sharing a heart-felt thank you.

Very nice of you Mark.

You guys make this a great forum and I thank you.

I received this note from my friend RobbW yesterday in appreciation of his receipt of one of the knives in this GAW. With his permission I thought it would be good to share it with everyone here. I believe his thoughtfulness in taking the time and effort to put such a nice note together deserved sharing with this community. I think the caligraphy is beautiful and he even included a traditional coin (the state quarter from Massachusetts, his home state).

Thanks Robb

Mark

.....

hrmmm

way to make me look bad Robb
Thanks for that :D

even if i wrote one now i would look silly,
so i'll just say, thanks again Mark!!

Ryan, you did more than I did for the knife community by hosting such a generous giveaway. Besides, I got the NIB Esquire. (I have and love a 92 as well).

Mark, had I even suspected that you might want to show the note, I think I'd have taken more time and paid attention to composition. I didn't mean to end below the margin like that.

Thanks again--the Esquire is Sharpmaker sharp and in my LFP as I type this.
