Anyone have a good source for 1/2" thick black canvas Micarta/CE phenolic?

I’ve purchased from them off eBay without problems. I can’t vouch for their micarta however.

I've placed several orders with them, for several different pieces/types of micarta, and have never had an issue. The micarta has always been of great quality as well.

Any place like that that is selling micarta in bulk will know where it came from and it is a reasonable question to ask. Find out where it was made before buying it, there is a lot of Chinese stuff out there that you don't want to use on a knife.

That's always been my worry with buying phenolics from a non knife specific supplier. I would like to find some that is known quality material at 1 inch thick, so I could cut it on a bias. Much more pleasing to the eye.

I bought an order from them a couple of years ago. The black micarta had small voids which showed up when I started shaping it. I haven't bought any more.

Interesting. I've gotten both black and brown linen from them, as well as black paper, and it's all been very good quality.

As Nathan has mentioned, there can be a diff in Micarta.. Also ALWays wear a Respirator when working this stuff! It releases Formeldyhide and will pickle your brain!!
