Is there a way for me to make a leather strop for my 1" X 42" sander. I see Jantz sells the leather, but how do I make it a continuous loop? Can it be glued to an old sanding belt? If so, what adhesive? Does any knife maker supply sell it already to go? I did find one at a woodworking website, but with shipping it was big $$$. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave.

You are right about lee valley - That is the woodworking site that I saw it on - but $23.00 for the belt, and $10.00 to ship it, adds up. I was hoping for a more economical route. I noted Jantz, but it is just a strip, and not a loop, unless I missed it on their website.
Anyone else?
Thanks,
Dave.

David, check supergrit or go to ebay and look for them. A lady named 'barbkat" or something like that sells a lot of belts and other discount abrasives.

well i split the belt at both end in half and put them both together to make it the same thickness.
