1 degree disc plate.

I got a disc grinder for 15 bucks at the auction I work at yesterday and I am looking for a disc plate that has a 1 degree bevel on the face to keep the blade off the other side of the disc. I see that beaumont metal works has one but its quite pricey for a $15 machine. Do you know of anywhere else I could get one for a lower price? A 9 or 12 inch would be ideal as thats the size is see for PSA ceramic discs.

^^^ What he said! Also, buy a Quality Disc, Cheap stuff is Cheap and usually won’t last or isnt made properly to start with. I have a 1 degree from Tru grit and it’s made by the people that make the Hardcore knife grinder! These people also make the Discs for other grinder makers.
 
I saw those and they are the same price as beaumont metal works. Are there any options for cheaper discs or is that what they are going to run anywhere? I just can't afford an $85 disc on a $15 disc grinder.

Don't think of it in terms of it not being worth it or cost effective to put an $85 disc on a $15 grinder. Think of it in terms of you having saved $200-$400 on a grinder that you can put towards a quality disc. The balance, how true the disc surface is, the run out of the outer edge all matter in a disc. Since these parameters have a direct impact on the quality of the finish of your blades it would seem to be a poor choice on where to skimp on cost. The wise craftsman knows when to pay up for quality tools.
 
First of all nice score on the the disc grinder.
I think you're going to be hard pressed to find a quality disc for less than the Trugrit one. If I could get a disc sander for around $115 total I'd be all over it.
 
I have a never been used 1 degree disk from Beaumont (a flat one also) that I would sell for $60 shipped anywhere in the US. They have never even been mounted. I went and bought a Nielsen setup before I could use these. Anyway send me PM if you are interested.
