I was at my local dollar tree and saw that they are now selling repackaged frost cutlery lockbacks ( I've got an original one from the early 90's , and this one makes it look like a good knife 😁 ) it has a crap load of blade play that I can easily take up, but it's sharp enough to toss in my toolbox.

I'll take some comparison pics when I get home.
I know most people won't Cade, but I just thought it might be fun to see how much crappier they were able to make these 😁

On a side note, my local Walmart upped the price of their infamous Ozark trail 1$ knife to $7.50
What the hell Walmart ? After how decent their $3.89 knives are how can they pull this crap 😁

Can't go wrong for a buck, hell the blade might be worth that much at a scrapyard

I have the exact same knife I picked up at a flea market. I think I paid a buck for it too.

I found mine at the train tracks. Traded it for trees though. New owner probably scraped a bowl or 2 haha.

That's where my original one came from. ( it says rostftie but don't think it's actually German Steel, not that it matters )
If I didn't already have the old one I probably wouldn't have bought it, but I thought the comparison would be fun .
you should here the sound it makes when opening, it definitely makes you want to grit your teeth 😨
I didn't want to create unproductive content , but I thought about showing off " this rare prototype spyderco eagle knife that someone sold me for 50$ " just to see how long it would take for someone to burst my bubble 😁 ( not sure if they still do, but I believe frost cutlery used to call these the delicai or some other play on delica which they're loosely based off of )

My father in law had the smaller version that he carried daily. A few days ago he was bitching about how horrible the thing was and how the blade would pop out of the lock while he was using it. Not folding back down, but the other way!. I reached into my pocket, hand him my Dragonfly II and asked,
"Is this too big for your pocket?"
He said it was just small enough as he compared the "real knife" to his.
I took the POS from him and said
"Consider this a trade"

I then walked over to the wastebasket and tossed it.

Knowing him though. He probably fished it out and put it away as a spare in case he loses the D-fly.

He is loving the real Spyderco so much that he actually thanked me a second time for it. (Very rare for a F.I.L. especially mine)😉

I ground the serrations off and lost the plastic thumb stud , but is this what you're talking about ?

For some reason I just like them. They're not any good, but they make a good one time spare to give a fellow fisherman who forgot or lost their blade, or as just a beater for your toolbox.
( I've bought so many of the little ones that I've given away or tossed when dull )

His was yellow, but yep that looks like the model. Really was a turd of a knife.
But hell, if you like 'em.. Go with what floats your boat.

I don't like them as knives, but maybe it's because they're part of my childhood that I just kinda like having them around ( kinda like watching the cartoons you used to watch and eating your favorite cereal )They really are a pod as far as knives are concerned, and giving him that spyderco was a great move 👍
