1 Knife

Schrade Old Timer 123OT Pioneer; 4"; clip; carbon.

It was my Only knife for about 15 years...Its good enough to EDC.

Growing up, the local hardware store only carried 1 model of knife, a Case yellow carbon soddy.I carried it from 3rd grade to the Navy. Bought a new 1 before I went to Boot-Camp, & still have it. In the Guard I was given a Vic Soldier. & now carry a Vic Cadet to work, & will start to carry a Buck Cadet (I have small hands) when it comes in. all you really need is a blade length = your pointer finger really. Any extra blades just add to its utility.
You know if my neighbors in PA heard Iwill have 2 soddies, 2 Vics, & 2 Bucks, they'd think I had some sort of disease:eek:.

Wait til the bug really gets you:D.
John laughs at me everyday we see each other at work. He always wants to know what new toy I got. :o
I know you can't really carry a knife to work there but do you still really carry all 3. Or did you retire your Soddy?
While I'm thinking of it, what do you think makes a good sheath knife?
In fact I'm curious what everyone thinks would make a good sheath knife.

I said large stockman and still think so, but I am carrying just this Mooremaker
Stockman.I didn't partake in the experiment because I can't rip this Wave off my belt.

One knife for a month or so I would have to go with my Case CV Amber Bone Texas Jack or one of my Boker Copperheads in carbon steel.

One whole year and I would have to pick my Spyderco Pacific Salt. I spend a lot of time fishing on my boat in the ocean and I've only owned one knife that won't rust even if put away wet with saltwater and fish blood/goo all over it. That H2 blade is pretty amazing. It stays extremely sharp for a long time and simply won't rust. Probably not a a popular choice here, but I'd honestly have to go with that big 'ol FUGLY plastic yellow handled knife with a hole in the blade.

I'd pick a trapper. Specifically, my Case CV chestnut bone trapper. Two blades = one for food (spey) and one for everything else (clip). It's usually my EDC anyway...

Either a medium stockman or a Vic mechanic, carred a Vic for about 5 years and it did everything I needed.

If near the coast or only in a wilderness type environment with no other tools: Victorinox Alox Farmer

If inland and with other tools available: Case large CV Stockman

Bug, what bug???:rolleyes:I can't carry my SAK (soldier), & wanted to try out somthing other than a Case. So now for work I carry a SAK Cadet, & when it comes, I'll carry a Buck Cadet, for everyday (after-work).
Sheath knife, what do you need 1 of those for?:foot:
