Deb and I both are doing great. Still havent had a cigarette for a month. We treated ourselves to a nice buffet last night and we sat in the non smoking section :D

Feels good to breath better, but the craving is still pretty tough.

It will be 25 years for me in May. I still smoke in dreams, but haven't had waking cravings in many years.

My hat is off to you for the effort. Keep your goal in mind and never, ever, smoke just one "cause you have been so good...."

congrats. i have never smoked a day in my life, but it has almost been 2 years without alcohol

Congrats on the accomplishment. It will be 4 years smoke-free for me this September. I actually thought the 2nd month was tough. I started getting cocky, thinking I could turn it on and off. Big mistake.

Keep it going.....

Congratulations! It isn't easy at first but after a while you'll wonder what it was ( cough wheeze ) all about. :)

Congrats. It's been 1 year for me and its easy now. I only get cravings occasionally when I drink, but those arent ever bad enough for me to actually do it.

Way to work.:thumbup: When I quit, I always got the biggest urge to have a smoke, when leaving the Home Depot parking lot.:confused:

I'm glad to hear that you are still not smoking the cigs Mark and Deb! It's been nearly six months since I quit. It hasn't been easy, but I think that it does get a bit easier every day by some degree. Keep it up! -Matt-

That's another thing to be very proud of! We all have our downfalls and weaknesses. All we can do is try to rise above them and stay above them! -Matt-

Excellent! Quitting is one decision you will never regret. I'm closing in on 8 years of smobriety and am not looking back. I still get that old smoking dream every once in a great while but I recoil rather than crave a smoke - like "What the heck am I doing that for?" :D

Good move. Good luck.

I got tired of coughing up blood after a night of drinking and chain smoking. I still drink, but the smokes are out. Keep up the good work.

Thank Everybody,

I'm sure this is the best thing we've evr done for our health. It's amazing how much better I can smell and taste already. I will probably be a fat pig now :D

Hopefully not.

Even with the cheap crap cigarrets we were smoking, it is still like having an extra $250 a month. Hmm...

Nice vacation a year from now would be nice.

If you do it right, you can use your new-found ability to really enjoy good food to eat better, not just stuff tasteless mush past burned taste buds.

6 weeks now for Rae and I. So we know what you have gone thru. Getting easier not to give a second thought going into week 7. Congrats to the both of you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whew!! Glad to hear that Jim, I'm surprised how bad I crave a smoke after a month.

I guess it's supposed to be hard to quit after 30 years of anything.

Hail the smoke quiters :D

Congratulations!! I am still off the wagon so to speak, but I am getting to the point that it's time. For many years I didn't want to quit, which was the biggest obstacle, but the tide is turning. Did you use patches/gum/etc. or just cold turkey. Just curious.
