A couple of days ago I posted a thread asking about 0-1 stock and amber stag. Thank you guys for being so helpfull you have eliminated a lot of headache for me. I am going to have a piece of elk colored for me from culpeppers. My question this time around is how deep does the dye penatrate the bone. How close to finished size does the bone need to be when I send it to them? I don't want to grind off the color, I want no white color showin once I finish the piece. Just the amber and deep brown. Again, thanks in advanced. Its great having access to so many skilled craftsman for advice!

I have not had elk stag done by Culpepper but have used stag & bone dyed by them & also have had Sambar stag dyed by them & in all instances the dye penetrated completely. (Wish I knew how they did it !)
