1 of 9 Whale shark

@jakey HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA love it.

Thank you sir.

I mean if you traced the two knives, they would look about identical. Hey their are only so many designs of folders that are practical, you're bound to come across similarities. But to then call it the exact same name? No.

I guess microtech figured, oh heck, why deny it, they flat out don't care about so obviously ripping off others designs. Now they use the same name too? Horrid.

I mean at least Chinese rip offs are CHEAP. Who copies and charges more then the original?

I was pretty appalled at the obvious Kershaw rip-off but then I saw this post which puts things in perspective, the Whaleshark has been in the works for years at Microtech http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/337287-Microtech-Whaleshark

Sure does. I guess it was easy for me to jump the wagon considering the whole kershaw incident. And I can't say for certain how long ago Warren Thomas first made his whale shark.

Now I'm even more upset with microtech...that ti proto looks amazing. Wish they would of stuck with that! I'd buy that one in a heartbeat.

Yes, Production Whale Sharks are coming out

Thanks for Craping my thread up Jakey:rolleyes::mad:

When I first saw this particular model, I was reminded of a (last I heard) discontinued flipper Warren Thomas used to offer. Its not as glitzy as this one but the lines are pretty similar. Warren called his model whale shark.

But its not like microtech would knowingly rip off someone else's design that happened to have the same pretty unusual name.

Oh. Wait a minute....

the whaleshark was designed by Johnny Liao
