1 of the first 300 large sebenzas made

Crazyshank -- congrats on the find! BTW, I happen to have P184, from the original Sebenza era. It was the first Sebenza I owned. :) A twin from a different era of yours . . .

Awesome Score my friend. Anytime these OLD Sebenzas pop up, it takes us all back to memory lane when they were much more affordable and plentiful. Now they are dried up and costing a fortune...!!!

Its nice to see old regulars ( with ATS-34 no less ) showing up here for us to talk about em.

Talk about making my morning....!!!

Dave, interesting bit of information, I suppose we could start a list and see if there is any crossover. There was a recent thread about the earliest known model with BG-42, there are some numbers listed there. I do wonder if the handles were made in batches back then, that might explain part of it, but your #3 small is the lowest numbered model I have seen. If there were 200 large and 200 small I imagine somebody would have tried to make a matched set along the way as well.

That's really a great idea, James. In fact, it would be great to maintain a list of special knives, and if the owner is willing, a cross-reference to the owner. Not only would it answer questions like these, and be a gauge of the "strength" of our BF CRK community, but it would facilitate some way cool trading activity. :D I'm sure some of the knowledge already resides within the BF posts, but I sure can't keep it all in my head. :)

It's a possibility that the numbered slabs were made all in one batch. I have observed that Chris worked serially, model for model, on each model development; however, the fact that original to regular was basically a profile change with common internals, might have enabled a single engraving run.

I have a small. Number 163 with BG-42.
