First of all, this should be in The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

Secondly, please use interpunction. Your posts are almost impossible to read without getting a headache.

1SKS is run by Spark (Kevin Schlossberg), who also owns BFC. He has a great reputation as a dealer and I'm sure that you'll receive your knife soon.

I was told a few days ago that 2 knives I ordered were out of stock and that they would ship at the end of the first week of January. They were not X-mas gifts so I didn't mind. This is my first time ordering from them. Hopefully all will go well.

It may have something to do with the heavy snow in the Ohio Valley. I ordered from a shop on the east coast and was promissed to I would get it by the 23rd of Dec. This was a Christmas present for someone dear to me. The package arrived on the 27th. Was told the problem (heavy snow) was an act of GOD. Nothing vendor/shipper could do.

I've always gotten great service when I ordered from 1sks.
It sucks when an item is backordered, but you really can't hold them responsible. They can't control when a shipment from a manufacturer or distributor comes in, and are probably just passing along to you what someone else is telling them about when it's coming.
I'm sure they want to sell you that knife, and make their money, just like you want your knife to arrive.

btw, regardless of the dealer, I try to call whenever possible, and confirm that something is in stock, and order by phone. If I order by internet, I make a note on the order form stating that I want the order canceled, and to be informed of the cancellation if an item is not in stock. It's easier on me, and while the dealer may be put out about losing the order, at least they don't have a backorder to keep track of, or to worry about making a customer unhappy.

I agree. I have always had good service from 1SKS. I have recommended them to friends and family. I had a backorder issue a couple of years ago on an item, and it took a while, just luck of the "Supply and Demand" curve.

Since then, I always call and inquire of the stock situation about an item before I order. I always order by telephone. Like I said not the fault of 1SKS, but I believe if I want one, so do other people.

Hang in there. Your knife will be there. David

A few years ago, I ordered three Benchmade knives from 1SKS, complete with giving them my credit card and address info. Nothing ever showed up and my e-mails were ignored. The whole experience gave me the creeps and I've never considered ordering from 1SKS again.

I've done a couple of transactions with 1SKS. Kevin and crew are super good! Fear not, they will take care of you!

Big words like "interpunction" give me a headache.I had to go look it up in my redneck dictshunary.

Definition: \In`ter*punc"tion\, n. [L. interpunctio, fr.
interpungere, interppunctum, to interpoint. See {Inter-}, and
{Point}.]
The insertion of sharp object between intertube and tire;
punctuation,deflation,to puncture. :p

I knew that word looked funny. I thought he meant "interpuction". You know, when one of those hard rubber discs busts through a goalie's teeth and lodges itself in his esophagus.

Alright, folks.

Please keep the off topic banter to the appropriate forums.

Thanks. :)
