1 x 30 Belt Grinder - Wheel Replacement

I have a 1 x 30 belt grinder and would like to replace the the plastic convex wheels.Removed the snap ring but could not remove the wheel.I am thinking of machining a replacement aluminum wheel.

If you can machine, build a good 2X72" machine. I know, no money. So save up.
