Just about 1 year ago, I started attempting to make knives. :) The first ones were mostly just semi-sharp pieces of metal, but I have learned a ton over the last year and the forum has been a huge help.

This is the 12th knife I have completed, and I feel like this has been my best one yet. I have been constantly watching RyanW's WIPs and they have been a huge help to me.

Let me know what you guys think, good or bad. I am always trying to learn and get better, so let em rip if you have any comments.

Now I have to find a friend to give it to!

Here's the specs:

Aldo's 1/8" 1084 HT'ed by Darrin Sanders
Orange G10 and Canvas Micarta scales
Stainless 1/8" pins
12 1/4" overall with a 6 3/4" blade
Vinegar Etch
Tapered Tang

Thanks for looking!

I think you did a great job on the handle, The plunge looks okay, and I can't say mine are any better.

Overall, I think you did a great job.

That looks sharp!

Your progress has been great, keep up the good work!

Pretty good, sir. So tell me.....you said that this is your 12th COMPLETED knife. How many incomplete ones have you attempted?;) For me to get to 10 or so finished "shop knives" and the first knife that I ever let leave my shop (KITH knife that could have been sold for say $150-175), I think I started perhaps as many as 75.:D

I guess I am lucky that there have only been a few blades that got turned into scrap, I think I have 3 that I didn't even attempt to finish after I butchered the grinds. They make good box openers though! :) Maybe one of the benefits of getting an hour at a time in the shop....I am not in there long enough to screw a ton of things up!

I was thinking about the KITH, but not sure if I am there yet.

Nice job. good to see someone working at my pace. I have been making knives, or trying to for about 1 1/2 years, and I think I have made about 15 and then 2 or 3 that were never finished.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't get much shop time between the family constantly changing hours at the day job and other chores. Sometimes I think it helps because I plan my time out, but other times I feel like I rush because I don't have much time...this usually ends up causing me hours more work to correct.

I like it. It's got character. I especially like that joint at the back of the guard.
