I forged this knife out of W1 tool steel 1” round stock. The bolster is integral, the tang is fully tapered. The blade is a full flat grind with a fairly long clip/false edge, and it features a wavy hamon from the clay coated water quench. Double tempered. Green canvas Micarta scales, ¼” stainless steel Corby rivets and thong tube. Blade is hybrid polished, with a base of 2500 grit hand-rubbed.

This knife comes with full pictorial documentation of the creation process. I just finished a WIP thread on it. I’m not sure about the protocol of linking to it from the sales floor, but if you search here you will find it.

This knife is deceptively light and fairly quick for its size, due to the long distal taper, clip point, and full tapered tang. Blade length is 9-7/8”, overall length is 15-1/8”, handle length is 5-¼”. Blade is 1-½” wide, and 0.220” thick at the spine at the bolster front.

Asking price is $500 U.S.
SOLD. Price includes insured shipping to the 50 states. I will ship worldwide, I ask that the buyer pay additional shipping costs in this case.

I’m not including a sheath in the price, but I will make a basic one on request. For a sheath, add $30.

Blade shipped with a razor sharp polished edge.

I make knives to the best of my ability and knowledge. I research to find the best materials and methods to use, in order to provide the very best product, in terms of value, durability, performance, and aesthetics. Should you find a knife you have bought from me to be lacking in any of these respects, you may ship it back to me at my expense for a full money-back return.

Should a knife purchased from me fail in materials or workmanship, please ship it back to me at my own expense for your money back in full, or repairs at no cost. It’s your choice.
I will sharpen any of my knives at no cost; however I do ask that you pay for shipping costs for this service.

I am always pleased to hear from any of my customers, past, repeat, potential, or otherwise. Please go to my web site, see "Contact Me" and give me a call. If you have any questions regarding these policies, I'd like to hear them.

Also, if this knife or any other I have made that you have seen looks close to something you would like, or if you would like to talk about an entirely different knife design altogether, please contact me, I do custom orders as well and always enjoy talking about knife designs, whether or not we actually end up doing business.

This is a really remarkable knife Salem! Your attention to fit and finish is phenominal my friend. I love the flow of this piece in all aspects of the design. Great Job!!!!

I bought a cable damascus knife from Salem two years ago and it is spectacular. It is one I pull out every time when showing my knives from the great makers on this board.

Hi Brad, I remember that knife well- it was the first one I sold here on the forums. It's good to hear that you are still digging on it. Hope you are well.

I don't know if this is the best knife you've made (I haven't seen them all), but I'm certain it's the best one I've seen you make.

Keep them coming, Salem. Very VERY well done.

The handle blew me away. I've seen straight and dove tailed integrals but fitting the scales perfectly to a curved bolster like that must take skill! Nicely done looks like you thought of everything.

Craftsmanship & exquisite styling - you never disappoint Salem

I'm starting to think I should have saved my money so I could order something like this. :p

I love the spine shot--the integral bolster is so clean, the tang elegantly tapered, and the makers mark reminds me of a thumb print.
