I'll try. I haven't been in the service, but I have a long family history of service. 4 uncles, and 2 brothers, most recently. My grandfather met my grandmother in Puerto Rico, while stationed there. I currently work for the gov't as a civilian. I'm a chemist for the EPA, which some may have trouble with, but I help make the world we live in safer for our children. :D I've begun working out in the field this past summer, and that involves wading into creeks and climbing down steep embankments covered in foliage. A knife like this would be well appreciated when hacking through the green stuff. This would also be my first Busse, as it's been a challenge to justify the cost for a limited-use knife. Nowadays, it's looking more and more desireable.

Anyway, thanks for the chance, and your generosity.

Oh, and congrats on a monumental achievement! Your input is a valuable contribution to this place.

Congrats on hitting 10K, Trevor! Great idea for a giveaway! Thank you to everyone who has and who is serving.

A very noble cause and a very generous offer.

My little remembrance of the day is two part. Unfortunately, both involve the death of someone. The first is very personal and involved the death of a family member. The second is the result of the day's events. A friend of mine, and very close friend of my sister had just been working in the Pentagon for some time. A few weeks prior to 9/11, his office was moved due to some renovations being done. The area he moved to was right where the plane struck the Pentagon. He was a pilot that was doing an administrative rotation.

Earlier this spring I was in NYC for a day. I went to the memorial and found his name there. You don't really expect to find someone's name that you know on something like that.

At age 14, my eldest son was so angered and inspired by the terrible events of 9/11/01 that he enlisted in the Marines (when he turned 19) so that he could take the fight to the terrorists. Subsequently my other son, joined as well, and now serves as an active duty 1st Lt. I would love to gift the knife to one of my sons.

This is a really generous and thoughtful offer. Good luck to everyone who enters  Thank you to all branches of the military for everything you do. There are no words that can express my gratitude.
