I've been steering more towards .22's lately both for my plinkers and my woods guns. Ammo cost has a lot to do with it, but its also because they're so darn handy and easy to shoot. I had my pile of 10/22's out today.

- A stainless 10/22 with a BSA Green dot sight and Tapco stock

- A new Ruger Charger with BSA Red dot sight

- A slick little Ruger CRR with fiber optic sights

That Tapco stock is pretty tacticool. My 10-22 is a graden variety SS model with the factory stock. I have scoped it (need one now) and it's amazingly accurate just stock. I've got a mess of the Butler Creek magazines but I find I just put two or three factory 10 round mags in one pocket and a box or two of .22 in the other. I've got a lot of hi-cap firearms but as I get older I sort of have gotten away from blasting a lot of rounds downrange and seem to shoot slower now.

Does the Tapco stock telescope or is it just a looks thing?

It telescopes as well. Pretty handy actually as I can adjust it depending on what clothing I have on and for other shooters as well. It's comfortable too. And it is tacti-cool as you say :p

I have a bunch of high caps for teh guns but I do agree, a couple of 10's in the pocket are good to go. That's all I use with the CRR which is my current preference for a camp gun. 16" barrel and a short, trim stock. It carries like a dream. I just wish I could hunt with a semi in PA!

Come to Idaho. ;)

I've got three AR carbines with the telescoping stocks and they handle very nicely. I could see doing that to my 10-22, especially if it lengthens the pull any.

Furthest out position is longer than a stock 10/22. I think , anyway. I haven't had a regular stock on mine in years!!

Here's a better shot of the Tapco stock and CRR (that's before I swapped out the dot sights)

Thats a good set of 22's. My last couple of fiearms hae been in this caliber. You can't beat a 22 for plinking fun.

How do you like the Charger? I have been wanting one since they came out but can decide if its for me. I already have a 22 conversion for my AR and a Ruger Single Six. I am thinking this wouldbe a nice middle man.

Own 3, but this one, with a free-floating barrel, Trijicon reflex sight, and a few other mods is my favorite.

I dunno yet. I haven't even had a chance to shoot it! It's pretty neat though. I like the concept of it and the fact that its compatible with my 10/22 rifles.

I also have a 4" MK II and a 4 5/8" Single Six and will stick with those for belt guns. The Charger should be fun though.

Cool looking 10/22's 'Ol Bud  I have the CRR model & the DSP model. both have had trigger work done & they both shoot good. I have a bushnell 3x9x32 rimfire scope on the DSP model but I left my little CRR plain.
I also have a Savage 64FV .22LR & it will out shoot either of my 10/22 ;)

that tapco stock is calling me name!

I've never worked with a Savage semi but I am eyeballing their rimfires. A good .22 bolt action is on my wish list for this year. I have a Romanian M-69 trainer which is surprisingly nice and shoots well but its a basic rifle with fixed sights. I want a heavy barrel model with optics. I looked at a bunch at SHOT and am pretty much narrowed down to a Savage MK II BTVS with Accutrigger. Really slick set up that handles well for me and is fairly affordable. Supposed to be very accurate as well.

great looking guns Tim... nice to see ya here.. i need to get me another .22... i really like that stainless 10/22 with a BSA Green dot sight and Tapco stock.. that thing is cool... i bet it's a lot of fun to shoot...

Charger with the big magazine is awesome...

How does it shoot?

I dunno yet :D I just got it last weekend and got mounted the sight this weekend. Hopefully the weather holds for a bit and I can get to the range.
