On a recent outing Kevin Estela and I were once again discussing out "10 Essential" items carried with us while spending time in the woods. Is is not my emergency kit or PSK. These are the items I tend to bring with me on all of my trips. These are also the items that tend to get used every time. Items not listed in order of importance.

This is my woodsbumming "10 Essentials

looks like a pretty thorough list there. pretty close to my essentials list, but mine is a little bit less developed and more dependent on trekking than staying put-so its generally more minimalist to reduce a pack load.

That's exactly what I've been doing with the "10 Essentials" for my kids and wife (even use a Kifaru bag, but the heavier ones...might need to get the lighter weight material). I have a couple of Scout's, but still like the Tailgunner:thumbup: Excellent set up and post, thanks for sharing!

Edited to add a picture of the one's I did up for my kids...also that Petzl Tikka can also be used for signalling at night with the strobe function!

Jerry,

Thanks for posting this here. I wanted to duplicate the post from KF but I couldn't access BF for a few hours today. Your pictures came out great. I hope others will post pictures of their 10 essentials.

By the way, I only have 17 more days until my Tailgunner ships from Kifaru!!

Great setup man! I like that you keep items that you actually use, and not a miniaturized version of useful gear in kit form. I've got a similar setup that I like keeping with me too.

Estela- Dig that new subtitle.

Thats a sweet setup. All essentials are represented, with all those you could do well for yourself. Those tailgunners are too sweet I need to get one. What kind of wait is there?

I ordered my tailgunner not too long ago. Wait time is about 6 weeks tops. Not bad since each one is made to order and all are made 100% in the U.S.

Thats not bad at all. I will have to grab up one of those, might snag an X ray up at the same time.......
