A murder's three years survival kit in Taiwan :

1.homemade muzzleloading shotgun ( use to hunt small game daytime)
2.gun powder and leadsinker (shot)
3.machete
4.homemade slingshot (use to hunt birds at night with AA headlamp)
5.cheapo AA headlamp
6. holy bible ( cop found this in his kit sack)

Due to ran out of AA battery, he could not do night hunt for meal and into town for AA battery and he got caught.
He also offer labor to farm for exchange battery, leadsinker ,and rice.
and he steals fruits from farm too

That's a long barrell on that homemade muzzleloader.
Just goes to show theres a lot you can scrounge up to use for survival.
Les Stroud often mentions this, never throw away anything.
 
This gun is a truely survival firearm, very smiliar to match gun in Improvise munition book. They use old newspaper or rag as wad, gun blackpowder is made of farming material or natural source, projectile from leadsink or steel ball from car,bike bearing- large cague ball as slug or rifle bullet to hit bigger targe.ie. human, wild boar. Small lead shot as shotsell to birds,small game.
percussion system is use toycap and can be change in field with matchlock igition system.
Formosa Aboriginal Peoples use this firearm since 17 centry for fur hunt and trible warfare, and use it to against Chinese immgration 1850, Japanese invasion 1895, Chinese nationalist massacre 1947 to now day street gang fighting.

I agree on the fully stocked Winnebago, all my stuff would be in it, ready to go, for my man Frday , Ray Mears would be handy, and throw in the Swedish Bikini Team.

I like this thread, as far taking chickens I think they would only work for soup, by the time you built a coop they would run off, Taking seeds to plant a garden, I don't think this would be good, how many weeks or months would it take to harvest a crop.

Thsi make us think alot. Maybe 20 items period list not including the clothes on your back and you get a pack to pu it in.
so,e folks mentioned 300 pounds of rice and beans, how much can you carry? As for guns, an item coild be, the weapon and one box of ammo, in the 20 or 50 count box, not a brick or a case.

So maybe someone can start a new thread of the only 20 items in your pack. Many of us would find this very informative. Pat
 
1my HI M-43 kukri, HI R-10, JMK 1 or 36 inch bow saw, fire kit. jungle hammock or tarp. cookkit. water bag,lots of cordage, fishing kit, book maybe.
