Hi bladeforums!

Got a few up for sale today, with what I think is a bit of an interesting new set of customization options. All of the blades are in 3/16" 1095, differential heat treated. If polished and etched correctly, they will show an attractive, if simple hamon. Here is a quick overview of the knives:

These are presently bare blades, and I am listing the prices as such, in order to cater to the do it your self segment of the market. Should you wish, I would be happy to polish/etch, make sheaths and wrap handles for you for a nominal fee. Of course, all knives will ship sharp, unless otherwise requested. I'll give the a bit of a better polish before, up to a fine scotch brite before they ship, whether or not you order the etch/polish.

A quick price list for the optional services:

Etch/Polish.. $15
Sheath, no pocket clip: $10
Sheath with pocket clip: $15
Handle wrap in paracord (have black, Olive drab, Tan, and Red available): $10

Payment will be via paypal, PM me for details. Buyer incurs real shipping cost, $7.80 via USPS flatrate insured. If you order the full package (Knife + wrap + Sheath) I will ship the knife for free A couple of quick caveats: 1095 is a plain carbon steel, and can rust if not kept oiled. Kydex sheaths can scratch knives if they get dirty. These knives are up for sale in multiple locations, and will be sold first come, first serve.

Here's an example of what they wind up looking like:
#1. 4" drop point hunter. $95. 4" edge, 9 1/8" overall length. 3/16" thick, black cord wrap.

Here are the rest. I've taken the liberty of marking the hamon so that it's visible before the polish. The lines are a little shaky because I was highly caffeinated when I drew them, but the hamons are actually pretty straight.

#2. Tanto kiridashi. $40. 2 3/4" blade length tanto kiridashi. 6 3/4" overall length. Hollow ground main bevel, flat ground in the front. 3/16" thick.

#3. 3" regular hunter. $55. 3" edge, 7 3/4" overall length. Straight point hunter?

#6 3" wharncliff. $SOLD. 3 3/8" blade, 7 7/8" Overall length. Modified wharncliff style blade, 3/16" thick. Please excuse the shaky line that denotes the hamon on this blade.. I was highly caffeinated and unsupported when I drew it. It's not that wavy. Edge is very thin, .05 before heat treat.

Would you be willing to drill holes in the handle for mounting scales?
Absolutely, but fitting a standard scale would be difficult. The edge on these have a nice radius all the way around, for comfort in the hand, and as such, if you fit up a scale, it will gap out around the edges. A shadowboxed scale where the scale is inset from the edge of the handle could work quite well, though.

Quite nicely! They sit flat, and the handle is exposed and sits flat to the pocket:

Guys,

Looks like the wife and I are on the way into the hospital for the birth of our second son! Wish us luck, and I will do my damnedest to get all of your knives shipped out on Monday. I'm sorry about the delay!

My Regards,

Josh Powell,
Grind Knives.
