Seven are sold, only six blocks left.

Only 13 blocks available at this price. $10 each plus $2.50 1st class mail shipping in the US.

I cut these from an old slab of figured Myrtlewood that was cut near a crotch in a big myrtle tree. The grain was arched so the blocks show cool grain patterns and some figuring. We got this piece from a retired woodworker who stashed this piece over ten years ago. The wood has a cool olive colored tint to it with a nice metallic shimmer that shows when you polish it up. Myrtle is a good hard wood, perfect for high end knife handles.

Blocks like this will normally sell for $15 to $20 each.
Dimensions are 6" long x 1&5/8" wide x 1.25" thick.

Just post how many you want and I will send you a PM with the total.

These blocks were meant to be a sweetheart deal to the forum members.

If nobody is interested I will take them off later in the week and list them individually at their regular prices in our webstore.

If this is not the kind of wood you guys like, I will understand and not list pieces like this in the forum. They tend to sell quickly in our webstore. I just wanted to give you guys first shot at bargain prices for some nice wood.

Hi Mark,

If I had the bucks I'd offer you $100 for the lot for my high school students, but alas, I'm pretty strapped. Plus, I'm not setup to stabilize yet, so there would be that to figure out to. Thanks for the opportunity though. I just wish I could take you up on it!

All the best, Phil

Thanks for the kind words Phil. This wood is very hard without stabilizing. Noticeably harder than maple or walnut. Maybe I can put together a care package for you next month with student grade blocks of wood for the students where you pay shipping plus a token amount for the wood. I have a lot of wood that is nice but doesn't justify photographing and listing separately.
Keep in touch. Mark

Your killin' me Mark........... :D

I have enough wood to build a small house with and yet I am "pondering' these.......... I think I need "professional help"..........

Still thinking it over............. ;)

Don't feel bad "teacher". I keep pondering all of these beautifull pieces he is posting and I'm not even set up to start making knives yet. At the rate I keep buying blades from all of these guys I'll never get my grinder ordered. Heck, I've bought seven blades in the past month or so. We won't even get into how much I've spent, especially after going to the AG Event this past weekend.
