status: Two spots remaining
Hello everyone!
Listing today what i believe to be one of my best knives up to date that have been in my workshop for months.
It features a hand forged finish blade out of an air hardening steel, 14c28n by sandvik. It was carefully heat treated to 61hrc and a very fine grain is guaranteed.
This steel is very tough even at this hardness, so this will offer a great experience of use by doing great in terms of edge retention, ease of sharpening and great performance due the grind.
The grind of it is hollow grind, done in a cnc machined radius platen made to simulate the radius of a 59" japanese grinding wheel, making the hollow grind a great feature that will improve food release as well offering better weight reduction.
Express checkout available via Stripe, which is probably the most used platform in the moment on internet.
My favorite detail on this knife is the fact that i left some of the forge finish on the flats to match the color of the ebony handle, allowing the gold to shine even more. This is for sure my favorite finish, but the hardest one to make.

The handle on this one is pure poetry - while it might look "too decorative", the handle is absolutely functional and have been crafted to last a lifetime of use. It was fully made using 24h epoxi and have several inner pins inside.
It has a beautiful full tang, tapered tang profile.
The tapered tang was one of the most challenging ever, since i had to thin the handle without touching the forge finish on the "neck" of the blade". It provides the knife an absolute weight control, precisely set in the pinch grip area.
The gold spacer here doesnt play huge importance since there is just a little of it, i didnt wanted to make something too flashy, as i have a preference of doing beautiful details like this more subtle and classy. Too much gold, in my opinion, would make it looking like a "mall" knife.
Thats why i picked ebony, as this was a wood specie traditionally used in the black tiles of the best pianos ever crafted, especially before they invented synthetic materials.
Important to mention: due the weight balance, while this knife is 10", it feels extremely natural, smooth and fast in hands. You will feel like using a regular 8" knife.
Like ALL my blades, they are tools before art.
Price: 550 shipped with zipped pouch included
