10" Wheel Opinions?

Grizzly has one also. Like all Grizzly tools, it may not be the best but it'll get you a long way down the road.

Sunray mailed back. So their 8" wheel is $113. They told me the 10" will be $247..um what? I've heard of a lot people on a budget and getting the Grizzly. Does the Grizzly come with bearings?

No it doesn't need bearings when used on the Grizzly because its mounted on a shaft that comes directly out of the motor.

Ok, so I'd have to use pillow blocks or something or press my own bearings in?

Apparently someone liked that wheel on eBay, because it just sold. Lol

Below is the 10" wheel I have. It's a Grizzly wheel that this guy machines down and installs bearings and balances. It's great! I have bought quite a few different wheels from him and all have been of the highest quality. I also use his aluminum drive, tracking and idle wheels as well as his steel small wheels. He is a top notch machinist and I highly recommend his products.

Hm. Nice. I'll have to put that one in the watch list.

I have the one above. Works perfect. Never used a serrated one but I'd see it more beneficial for hogging steel than smoothing hollow grinds. Good luck.

WOW!!! I'd been wondering what the 10" Sunray wheel would cost - I just don't see the reason for over double price for 10" wheel. Understand, an 8" wheel works pretty good.

The Grizzly wheel works just fine, but I would want bearings to have a normal mounting for the wheel and not fool with pillion bearings.

For sure. And an 8" wheel would be ok. But, if I'm going to spend the money, I've read on countless threads to get at least a 10, especially if doing hollow grinds.

When I start making again, I'm going to save and go directly to a 14". No reason to buy less and wish for more.

Hmmm.... glad I posted that here. Thanks for the info.

No problem. I almost pulled the trigger on it before I realized there were no bearings. I've been searching up and down for the best deal. May just pick up that one with bearings. $180 isnt bad I guess as long is it lasts.
