It does share the "broken-back" blade style of a Saxon seax; however, the seax is a single edge knife, whereas the Z-S is a double (triple?) edge knife. The resut is an extremely sharp blade point that can slice into a water bottle using only gravity. Way cool!
Great minds think alike!!!!
Yun, I set about trying to design a modernized "Tacticool" version of the broken back Seax this past spring.
Even had the idea for offset chisel grinds on the cutting edge and swedge.
One on one side the other on the other side.
You do great work, man. And a fellow Zombie geek to boot.!
Looking at the picture of you chopping the wooden dowel makes me very nervous. I would really hate to think if you missed or cut all the way through and hurt that shiny blade on the concrete.
... and I have to say.... it is a very nice knife. RAZOR sharp, great feel, balance, fits your hand like a glove. Very nice knife YUN. Keep up the great work! Aaron Kelley
