$100.00 Chopper???

Ok, Think I am going with the Browning Crowell/Barker competition unless someone can convince me otherwise. For those of you who own one, who has the best price.

Thanks

Paul

Paul, you've made the right choice. I've got one and it's awesome. One best production choppers I own. I'll be on the winter trip MLK weekend at Hawk Mtn. If you want, I'll bring mine for you to try out.

If you don't mind using ebay there is a genuine carbon v model trail master listed that ends in about 20 hours and since the pawn shop seller didn't list it as an USA carbon v model it doesn't have many bids and may not go over $100 which would be a great buy as these have been going for around $200 lately. the same seller also has an nk hunter listed that also has low bids. I hate ebay but at times am very tempted!

A tomahawk is 1/4 the price and 2-3 times more efficient for whacking down trees. I like big choppers also but they will tire you out far quicker than a hawk/hatchet/axe if you are whacking a lot of wood.

Kershaw Outcast is nice and light and has a great sheath, good for a camp knife as a lightweight-do-most things blade. It has a thick edge though.
I usually use this for hacking through the forest; http://www.thekhukurihouse.com/catalog/product.php?id=313630fc4c1
It's not fancy, but it works better, over the widest scope of use of anything I've tried, including Valiant goloks, (valiantco.com) which are also excellent and affordable.
