My wife has informed me that I have a $100 budget for my fathers day gift. I've been looking at two knives so far, Manix 2 and the Kizer KI3404 but I just cant decide. I really want a non assisted flipper but im open to any suggestions any of you might have.

Can't speak on the Leek but I edc'd the Chive for years, loved it. Have you looked into a Benchmade Mini Griptillian?

wait for it, wait for it. I don't care, I'm enjoying the hell out of mine, $65 US, very happy user here.

The list of my knives was just to give anyone an idea what I currently own so the thread doesn't get full of suggestions I already own.
How much difference is there between the Barrage and Mini Grip?

Kershaw knockout, I think you can get one with elmax blade for around 100$$. Great knife.

You looking for an EDC knife, an outdoors (hiking, camping, etc.) knife, or just something to "fondle" when the mood strikes you? It takes quite a bit of inspiration for me to spend anything near $100, and more often than not, I end up tracking down some discontinued beauty that I first saw here on the forum. Here are a few folders that I bought for $100 or less, for no other reason than appreciation for the design.

Spyderco Ulize
Kershaw Lahar
Kershaw Cyclone
Kershaw Camber
SOG Vulcan
Kizer Ki4411F1

I'd recommend holding a mini-grip before shelling out the $$ for one. You may prefer the regular version much more.

Manix 2 is one I'd recommend though. G10 w/ the FFG is just awesome all around. Feels heavier-duty than the PM2, and more ergonomic in my hand.

Same steel, same lock, different grip different blade. Obviously I'm in the minority but I never saw the great appeal of the mini grip. It's the right size and many, many, EDC it, but it just never rand my bell. I'd try the knockout!

I'm looking for an EDC knife. When I first started buying knives I thought I liked assisted openers, but over the past few months I've realized I prefer non assisted.

Im wanting a Manix more and more every day. The black manix gets my vote. Or if you can squeeze out another $40, I'd say the Spyderco Sage III CF which is about $140.

The Manix 2 is one of the last few Spyderco's I haven't sold along with the Military and a couple of other harder to find models. If you want something that is more solid and has a thicker blade stock that you can use as a work knife I think it is a great choice, incredible ergonomics, I will always own a Manix2. if you want something lighter that is a better slicer a Para 2 might be the way to go, love the compression lock. Neither are flippers but they both fly open. If you want a flipper wait till you have a little more budget and buy a ZT 801.

That... Right around $100 is a great deal, but it comes assisted.

I'm not a spydie fan so I'd probably go with the Kizer, but the Manix2 is on my list if I were to buy a spyderco again.

I'm leaning towards a Manx 2 of some sort. and thinking about de assisting my blur,0350,cryo and clash. Can the 585 Barrage be de assisted?

Fox twister is another one right at the $100 mark that's on my own personal short list
440c

Buck open season in s30v I recently purchased is a nice sub $100 knife, a lot of knife for the price and I like it a lot.

Just 2 more options.

You can't go wrong with either:
