Start to finish, including every imaginable step in between. Showcases numerous attachments for my HMG New Jersey Mark II, heat treating
oven etc.

The only drawback - it is in Russian, as I made it for my countrymen.
Still you can see some good stuff in there, as it is self explanatory.

I had to split it in 2 episodes, 1st episode is online.

great movie, just can't tell what he says.
he looks like he knows what to do.
wish it was in english.

Let me remind you guys that a similar video in english showing all these steps would be $30+ dollars if you ordered it. Some aren't as good quality as this video either.

Very generous of rashid to document this and show it to us for free, even if it is in Russian. The language doesn't mean that it cannot be understood. I followed along and understood everything.

I can't think of one instance where ANY knifemaking video on the internet is as long, shows such thorough steps, and is free.

Thank you Rashid. I have learned alot from watching your video.

Thanks Rashid. Great video, thank you for taking the time to document your process in knife making. Very informative.

Rashid, you've provided a real service. Thank you for all the videos you have posted. Aside from making great knives, you do a fine job of video production - your lighting and the shots are ideal. It's almost impossible to be able to see a scribed line in a photograph, much less on video. I know how hard it is to shoot video and do all the editing; you make that look easy too! Thanks for putting so much effort into helping others.

I guess I'm not done yet. ;) It occurred to me how much we take the internet for granted, and how much we take other maker's willingness to help us for granted.

When I made my first knife in about 1988, I had nothing to learn from. A few articles in Gun Digest was about it, and those were mostly interviews or bios of famous makers. I had to pretty much figure everything out for myself. For example, I used a 1/8" bit for a 1/8" pin... :D I didn't even know about numbered bits. Stuff like that that we just ask and learn here, was all trial and error in the "old" days. And many makers "back then" were very close to the chest with their processes. It must have been a much more competitive world then.

If it wasn't for this forum and the fine makers like Rashid and Bruce Bump and everyone else who are so willing to share what they've learned, I'd still be hacking away with half-baked ideas rather than getting to try to make the stuff I dreamed of, and having someone to ask when I got stuck or screwed something up.

We are really lucky!

Folx,

u are all welcome. I will see if I can shoot next one in English - don't want to dub over the existing footage, as I am not a pro and it will take forever to get the timing right :)

Again, I think that video is what carries 90% of information as it is so self-explanatory .

Very cool! Thanks! I learned a lot without even needing to learn Russian.

I think I picked up "Harbor Freight" though.
