100 mph tape

I recent purchased 100 mph tape from USCAV.com. I figured it would be better than my cheap no-name hardware store duck tape. I haven't used it enough yet to comment on it's strenth, but it feels a bit thicker and seems to have a higher thread count which would make it stronger. However I am disapointed with it's stickiness. It won't stay stuck nearly as well as my cheap stuff. Has anyone else experienced this? It doesn't seem to leave behind that nasty gluey residue the cheap stuff do though, which is good.

What do you guys think about 100 mph tape?

Its like "THE FORCE" it has a light side a dark side and holds the universe together. Always liked that one.

But seriously you sound like you have a decent role as the glue on the good stuff is moer refined and is pressure sensitive unlike the cheap stuff which has a soft bubble gum like glue to it.

The good stuff's glue needs heat and pressure to stick real well. Rubbing it with you rhand is good enough. The good tape is very stiff compared to the cheap crap. YOu can buy the good stuff where you live no need to order online.

There is a 4oo mph tape I have not used but is supposed to be good as well.

Sounds exactly like what I have, stiffer, and not bubbly like my cheap stuff. I will try rubbing it to help it stick better.

ya, for about C$17! I payed around US$5 online, and ordered it with a bunch of other stuff so the shipping wasn't an issue.

thanks for the reply

I've had nothing but good luck with it. That is, once I learned how to apply it properly. :D

I use 3M's product, item #6969 that is top of the line. It is really good stuff, but it doesn't come in green.

I have used both 100 MPH tape and Duck tape and I prefer the Duck Brand duck tape any day!

Then there is the really "high speed tape", its soft aluminum with a very good adhesive, it is used for very secondary parts in airliners when small holes need to be temporarily patched against moisture.
