I know 100 post isn't very many to have a give away, but I have been a member lurking here for over two years! I have learned a lot from this site and want to give something back (even though the give away is fairly modest).

This give away is targeted at newbies who are wanting to try there hand at knife making, but also open to anyone wanting to try these materials. The gift is a piece of 1/8" 1084 so that you don't have to waste time trying to make a good knife from lawnmower blades, rail road spikes, rebar, ect. I will also include a set of Bocote scales and pins for the handle. I can do the heat treating and/or grind the bevels as well if required, but you have to do the profile yourself - find a bench grinder, angle grinder or something (that way the knife will be your design ).

Here are the rules:
Your post number is your entry number.
1. Limited to 99 entries - Just say "I'm in!".
2. I will ship within Canada & USA.
3. The winning number will be picked by using the last 2 digits from the XE Currency converter based on the US value of $1 CAN next Tuesday.

For example:

1.00 CAD = 0.904634 USD

The winning # would be 34. (If someone makes a post with out entering then the winning number will be the one previous).

Oh, and rule #4 - pics of the project to be posted here on BF:D.

it'd so awesome to be able to design my own blade!
...id need help though as to what steps i must take and whatnot but im sure you guys could help :D

Wow this is awesome! I just made my 1st knife with the help of a local knifemaker (bobbywett) and it turned out great. I then got myself a 1x30 HF belt sander to learn how to profile and sharpen myself. It'd be great to win this and make something on my own!

I'm in thankyou

Great way to give back to the community Bruce! I'll watch this with happiness, and hope to see the finished knife one day soon. Good luck everyone.

I'm in, it would be cool to get to make a knife from that.

Thanks for the Chance
David
