This is indeed a rare find. Built in the early 40's and delivered to the Imperial Sugar plant in Sugarland,Texas during it's construction phase. The contractors needed a power hammer to forge some odd shaped forgings for the sugar cane conveyor system. The contractors used it very little. Once the plant went online they moved the power hammer to the maintenance shop and painted it blue and yellow to match all the other machines. It sat there all these years unused by the maintenance staff until they sold it to an employee. He thought he would do some blacksmithing but lost interest. I bought the hammer about ten years ago from him and used it a couple years until I put air hammers in the shop. This hammer has hardly any wear at all on the babbit, the arms, bushings and even the adjustable maple clutch blocks. It has zero broken/welded arms or parts on the hammer. Other than maybe updating the paint job the hammer needs absolutely nothing and is running in my shop right now. I took the 3 phase motor off and installed a new 5 horse 220volt single phase motor. It has a brand new drive belt as of last month.

It is the coveted new style design with the removable sow(die) block and the outboard clutch with adjustable maple clutch blocks that are practically new. Changing the belt is a breeze with the outboard clutch design. The clutch is very smooth and is great for making large Damascus billets.

I use a 50 and a 120 pound air hammer and have only kept this 100 pound hammer just because it's in such incredible condition. But having purchased some new mountain top land I'm getting ready to move my shop and have decided to let go of this 100 pounder. Shipping will not be considered. It weighs 3800 pounds and I can load it onto your trailer with my shop forklift. You are welcome to come and run the hammer. This hammer can easily bring 10k. I am asking a firm price of $7500 to hurry up and move it from the shop. Serious inquiries only.

Nice hammer Ron! I'd be interested if I didn't already have two 100 lb Little Giants.

Oh and the toggle links are in upside down. Not a problem though...
