I've got $100 to spend on a knife. I prefer folders, have a few less expensive (Sog Trident, Kershaw Leek, Applegate/Fairbairn, CRKT). Curious to hear what others would reccomend.

CS Recon 1, Voyager, American Lawman, Kershaw, Buck...

There are a lot of options in that price range.

Kershaw G-10 Tyrade. Choice of colors include; black, orange, and tan. An awesome piece of knife, especially for the price.

If someone gave me $100 to spend, no question it would be a Spyderco Sage. Carbon Fiber handles, perfect size for EDC, CPMS30V steel, and wire clip that doesn't draw attention.

The value, fit and finish and ergonomics of this knife are second to none in the same price range.

I recently saw this knife for $98, but next time I went to the site, it had been raised to $118. Still kicking myself!

Can you give us any more info, preferred blade length, lock type, general use, etc. SOOOOO many awesome choices for under $100.

Kershaw RAM, JYDIICB, Damascus Skyline

Great, thanks for all the input! For whatever reason, I've never cared for the looks of most spyderco's (no doubt that they are great knives and they seem to be widely collected). May lean towards a BM, but after looking a bit more, I'm wondering if I should kick in another $20-$25 and go with a ZT 0200? Love the looks and from everything I've read it's a super solid knife. Thoughts?

I'd buy two good inexpensive knives. Boker Trance and something else.....maybe a good cheap fixed blade.

Tyrade G10 or Composite JDII
With a Tyrade you a knife that is more or less a non-tactical version of the ZT. Same thoughness, easier to carry.

I second that. The G10 Tyrade was my first thought.

I would also consider a ZT0350 (a little over budget), I'm really obsessed with that knife right now. I might also pick up two stonewashed OD-1s and put different handles on them.

Extremely solid yet also quite a handful and quite heavy to carry. I have it but it's not my favourite i its kind: for roughly the same price I do prefer my Spyderco Miitary as it's so much lighter yet still of incredible quality. Can even this cutlery icon not tempt you to try Spyderco?
