$100 to spend, what folder would you buy???

You could get a Kershaw JYDII with the composite blade (D2) and a wallyworld Buck 110 with enough left for a 'happy meal' from your C-note. The upgrade Cabela's 'Alaskan Guide Buck 110' has an S30V blade and a nice sheath for $70. You could also add the price of a fast-food lunch or two to that C-note and get a Benchmade 710 D2.

The ZT0200 is a great choice! It is as tough as they come and is built to take some rough use with a .157" blade, rather than the more common .125" blades, along with hardened stainless steel liners that are extra thick at ~.080". Of course, as said above, the Tyrade also has the same heavy duty build, but is flatter in the pocket than the ZT0200. You can also get the Tyrade for $45 less than the 0200.

If you need EDC, it will be hard to find better than Caly3 G10/VG10.
Great ergos, great sliser with full flat grind 3" leaf shape VG10 blade, low riding wire clip. And looks great:thumbup:

Benchmade 710 or Any of the Spydercos.

Some other great companies that can give you a great knife include Kershaw and Fallkniven.

I would stay away from Cold Steel, overpriced knives, horrible customer service, bad company overall. Emerson's are usually flimsy as well.

Any restrictions on blade length or assisted opening? Might help to narrow down the field. Either way, a ton of good stuff in sub 100 range. BM Grip/Mini Grip as well.

I'm liking the looks of the BM Nagara. I already have the Kershaw Ti Tyrade, but if not, I would pic up the G10 Tyrade in a heartbeat.

Or get a Spyderco of your choice (Endura, Native, Delica, or similar) and have Tom Krein give it a full flat grind.

Great, thanks for all the input! For whatever reason, I've never cared for the looks of most spyderco's (no doubt that they are great knives and they seem to be widely collected). May lean towards a BM, but after looking a bit more, I'm wondering if I should kick in another $20-$25 and go with a ZT 0200? Love the looks and from everything I've read it's a super solid knife. Thoughts?

Yup, get the ZT 0200. People say that it's worth much more than what you pay for. You'll absolutely love it!

Thanks again for the input- just picked up a NIB ZT0350 on ebay for $85 shipped! Couldn't pass it up. If I don't like it I'll sell it or work a trade for something else.

Spyderco Endura, Delica or Caly3 would be a good choice.

I found a Benchmade Mini Skirmish LNIB for aobut $110, for that price it's a really nice knife. You can also look at the Griptilians, and basically all the 900 series knives that Benchmade makes.

Yeah- the Nagara actually caught my eye as well. Found a few selling for around $65 which seems like a pretty decent deal (that's coming from a guy who knows very little about BM's)

For under $100 I'd consider either the Nitrous Stryker by Benchmade or Cabela's Benchmade Grip--both made with D2 steel.

-Kershaw Composite JYDII
-Spyderco Endura Wave
-CS Recon 1 Clip Point
-Benchmade Griptilian 551
