It took me long enough, but I finally made it to 1K! First off, I just want to say thank you to all the people here who make this place as great as it is. This includes both the previous and current moderators along with everyone else who helps to make the Traditional Forum a great source of knowledge, experience, beautiful pictures, friendship, and generosity.

With that in mind, I'd like to give a little bit back to the community. We'll keep this one pretty simple. Here's the rules.

  • You must have posted at least once in Traditionals prior to this thread.
  • Your post number is your entry.
  • If you have a paid membership you may take a second chance.
  • TWO winners will be selected and the first gets to pick which prize he/she wants.

On to the prizes.

#1

Queen Canoe with forced patina and satin finished bolsters. This one will also come with a Higonokami. Both knives have been used.

#2

Colonial Forest-Master that looks pretty much unused. Bonus with this one will be a King 1000/6000 Combination Waterstone.

I'll let this one run for a while as long as there is interest.

Thanks Dan, for the opportunity. I don't often enter these, but I'd love to have that Queen!

Thanks also for your contributions here. I remember back when I first arrived here it was your beautiful write-up about how you came to get the coconut palm 56 that created my interest in Great Eastern Cutlery.

Not an entry, just a congratulations on the 1k, I remember my 1k milestone, :) not really, it was too long ago. ;) good luck to you guys who enter.

Glad I could help, Doug. Strangely enough, I just took some new pics of it today. The flowers in the yard are in bloom so I snapped a couple. I already posted one in the totin' thread. Here's one of the others I took. I'm not crazy about how it turned out overall due to the lighting, but it does show the color of the covers nicely.

This one (also in the totin' thread) was taken in a different part of the yard on a cobblestone with more even lighting.

I'm in. Thanks Danny. A grands worth of posts. Good effort pal! And being that I'm gold...

I'm trying to limit the number of GAW contests I enter, but couldn't pass this one up. Thanks for the generosity! and congrats on a noteworthy milestone. And, just to be clear, I will be entering a second time. :D

Nice GAW Dan. Thanks for what you bring to the forum.
Not an entry please.
