Finally got a chance to get out a bit. Therefore I will provide the pics as promised and a short review.
Somehow I imagined a larger knife from the pics, to my delight upon receiving it, it's the perfect size.
This is a stout little guy with a good weight and balance. It's 1084 and came with a decent edge. I gave it a strop but haven't pulled out the smiths yet to get it hair popping which I'm sure it will take. The convex grind and gimping cut nicely in this....
The spine is nice and sharp and I got some good sparks off a rod but failed at getting good pics of that.
I really like this knife. I'll end up putting a patina on it eventually. I'll bring it to the gathering per the Col's request so folks there can check it out. Thank you very much Col and keep up the good work! Thank you everyone for the congratulatory posts.
I love hand made knives, tools, anything you use with your hands. They just have a spirit in themselves where you can feel a connection to the maker. Especially items such as this that was in the makers hands for hours. Good stuff man...
The lanyard it came with has a nice handmade antler bead, very cool! It even fits nicely in a spare tweener sheath.
Its already made a few friends...
