What a great idea for a contest. I had to think long and hard about an answer though. Here's my best guess at the moment:

There is just something about pearl and whittlers for me, I can't explain it. This Shadley example here is pretty much the ideal combination for me.

SunnyD (#12), you get the Soddy (yea...might as well give away both). Maker's edge isn't that great, but put it on a stone and I'm sure you can get it dandy sharp.
