Hey guys, I just hit my 100th post here and would like to give back to the BF community. I know most do a 1000th post, and I probably will too when I get there, but up to this point I have learned a whole lot and added to my collection from the exchange. When I first joined my ideal knife was an all black partially serrated with a 4way clip. But that was a long time ago:D and since then my ideal knife has changed, for the better. So the items I am giving away are 2, 11 function credit card multi tools. Heres a pic link http://dmknifeshop.com/images/ss_credit_card_knife.jpg
The Credit Card Survival tool packs a can opener, knife, screwdriver, ruler, wrench, saw, and more into a convenient credit card-sized package. You can't always Leatherman with you wherever you go, but chances are you've always got your wallet on hand. It ain't exactly a microtech assailant but it is handy :) Anyway, to enter just post a quick story of...the one that got away. By that I mean the one(or more) knife/knives that you had a chance to get but for some reason you let it get away. It has happened to me a few times one was on ebay, it was a lnib blackhawk hornet 2 for $50 but I was at work and forgot all about and I contacted the owner but he asid he decided to keep it. Also, here on BF I had a chance at a BM Nagara for $45 and hesitated and lost it.Another BF one, a BM gray rift for $85 and same story, hesitated. Sorry for the long ass paragraph lol, but now some rules.
1. Like I said post your story
2. Only one post per person please
3. Only enter if you live in CONUS please, just because of customs and shipping cost
4. Will choose 2 winners using a random # generator
5. Contest ends Thursday Feb. 4th at 12:00AM, why? cuz its my birthday :D

hmm interesting concept. well i lost a scrapyard scrapper 5 because i wanted INFI. even though the normal CG one would have been great. happy birthday and congrats on the 100.

Great Giveaway!

I have been looking for the Benchmade 732 Ares for a while now. I had one, sold it, and now I want it back. It was REALLY late at night, like 4:00, and I had just finished studying for finals. I happened to check ebay for that ever-elusive 732. I had been looking for about two months. I FINALLY saw it! FINALLY! For like $120 or something, too! I told myself, "I can wait till morning to buy this thing,"

I woke up. It was gone.

I haven't been that upset since the Cubs got screwed by Bartman in 2003!

Been around here forever--loved knives since i was a young kid--am a tradin fool as everyone knows--have met some great people here

thanks for the chance--:D

Saw a nice deal on ebay, didn't bid thinking I could later, came home to late.

When I was 16 and in High School I got a real nice Italian Switch Blade off a guy at school. After I had it only one day I was made an offer about 4 times what I paid for it. I was kicking myself for months over selling it and I could not find another one to save my life. Now I have about 20 or so Automatics, but none can replace that first one!

Well that's my story, thanks for the contest and Conrats on the 100 posts!

Chris

Hmm , I never win but why not try.

Thanks for the opportunity and Happy Birthday on your special day :)

The one's that got away ?

A few years ago one of the popular knife websites was blowing out CRKT S-2's ( titanium framelock/ATS-34) at a ridiculously low price , $25 IIRC , I missed out by a gnats butt.... I still think about that from time to time.

There's my story , thanks! :)

I've definately missed out on a couple of nice looking Case knives on the exchange. Mostly because I couldn't bring to buy "ANOTHER" knife... lol. I'm new to the hobby so the wife is still trying to comprehend why I would need to buy "ANOTHER" knife.

Not the most exciting story, but thanks for the opportunity!

Missed out on quite a few good ones due to my wife telling me that she is going to commit me if I keep getting more knives. Had to slow down a tad. LOL She doesnt go on Blade Forms.
Happy Birthday and Congrats on 100 posts.

lol I've been there plenty of times, and I bet so have many other BF members

Congrats on the 100 Posts! I've had a couple slip through my fingers, most recently a mini Ganzaaa by a notable hog on the Busse forum. I missed a ton of great and very rare super deals. However, as a result I had a few bucks to pick up another good deal I came across. Thanks for the chance. Those credit card multi tools are awesome. Whether I win or not, I might just NEED one.

Last week I missed out on a NIB Sage 2 for $110 because I posted "email sent" instead of "I'll take it". I'm still a bit flustered over that one. You better love that thing buddy! Haha thanks for the chance and happy birthday.

Oh and another one. When I first joined here I just missed a NIB orange Ritter Grip for $70!!

There was a benchmade barrage on craigslist.com that i saw for 65 dollars! i unfortunately didn't have the money when i saw it. but now there is a griptilian and another barrage on craigslist.. but once again i don't have the damn money! but ya ive had plenty of chances to get a great knife but ive lost the chance due to having no money... college sucks you dry... thanks for the opportunity!

There have been many knives that I have "let get away". Some of them were on BF, but most on Ebay. Instead of telling one of those stories, I'll tell you about the bandsaw that got away (hey, it counts because it cuts like a big knife- right?). It's a better story anyway.
I went to The Woodworking Show when it came to town because I had my eye on a Powermatic 14" bandsaw that I thought might be offered there. I got there early on the first day, and sure enough, a (huge) local hardware store had the latest model all set-up. I asked the rep if this floor model was available for sale after the show was over (so that I wouldn't have to assemble a fresh one out of the crate-a huge hassle). He said he would check, came back and said no, not for sale. So, dejected, I walked around awhile, watched a demonstration or two, and went to lunch.
When I came back from lunch, I went by the hardware store's kiosk again to ogle the bandsaw. It had a SOLD sign on it! What??? The red-faced sales rep said that the manager had agreed to sell the floor model saw (at $300 less than retail) after I had left, and that he had looked everywhere for me and couldn't find me. Meanwhile, it was sold to someone else. Well, @3#$&*!!! I took a deep breath and did my best to laugh it off. As I was heading to the exit, the manager tapped me on the shoulder and handed me two 42" long, parallel jaw clamps ($$). What a score, what a nice gesture!
Later that month, I went to the same hardware store to buy the bandsaw. The guys there all remembered me from the Woodworking Show and threw in a free mobil base ($150) for the saw. Great guys! Great store! Great Score (especially for "one that got away"!).

My uncle offered me a Blue Spyderco Lum for $60, though it was an AMAZING deal, I didnt have the $. When I came up with it, he told me he sold it to a friend who has since beet the living crap out of that $250 knife. Thanks for the chance and happy bday!

why heck yea i could use a free knife/tool!
yes it is fun to give back to the forum folks isn't it
now if you would like to post to win check put my give away!
its open to any one...
happy birthday .. enjoy !

Saw a NIB Para-military on Ebay with current bid at $50ish, thought to myself...eh, I'll wait for the para2 to come out. Couple hours later, Ebay emails me to flaunt an ending price of $80.
