1050 source?

Anyone know where to get 1050 steel? I'm having a hard time finding it in a usable size.

Admiral steel has it, but the cost is about 3X more than 1095 and other blade steels.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
 
If you can use large round stock, try Ray Kirk at rakerknives. Good guy.

Dave - Kelly Cupples has 1065 if that might work for you. Admiral is the only place I know of to order 1050.
 
Dave, I have a friend that has some 1" 1045/1050 round and some 3/16" x 1 3/8" x 3' cold rolled 1050. He has a small blade and blacksmithing supply business. Not sure about his prices. Send me an email and I can put you in touch with him.
