Found an anvil.
It is 106# Fulton according to owner.

They want $200. Sounded like a good deal to me even though it's not as big as most people I've heard from recommend.

Since I'm a beginner to forging, should I save and keep looking or would this be ok for most things I'll do.

I'd buy it. I paid 400 for my Trenton. I live in Amish country and they are hard to come by for less than that.

Less than $2/lb for anything that even resembles an anvil is practically stealing them now days. I'd pick it up for sure.

I couldn't believe it. I put an ad up saying will pay 1-2 dollars per lb. And if someone wants 4-5/lb im not interested.
The ones listed are very high.

I also checked out an antique store, but they didn't have anything except some wrought iron (I think) that I bought.

Buy it as fast as you can Josh. Under $2 a pound, I would not hesitate. It is plenty big enough for bladesmithing and a lot of blacksmithing tasks.

I'm picking it up this weekend!
Thanks fellas. I really am look forward to hammering some steel!

That's a good find and a super price. You are wise to pick it up. Even if you keep looking for a bigger anvil you will not regret this purchase. If you decide to sell it later you'll get more than your money back.

Nice score !
I hope that hardy is not stuck. If it is, do whatever it takes to get it removed.
Yay for you...
