My first impression from yesterday's camp is great. This hatchet came with a polished mirror edge, shaving sharp, the edge thickness is perfect for chopping/splitting logs and the head is also heavy enough for that purpose, quite head heavy actually. Still fine enough to do whittling, wood shavings, fuzzy sticks etc., although again, it's better suited for tougher stuff! The overall weight is the upper limit of what I'd like to carry when backpacking. No edge degradation at all so far but I did not do much either yet. This 1060 head was differentially heat treated.
You can tell right away, this hatchet was made by someone who honors this craft!! Great job Lisa!!

So, so far I am very pleased/impressed with it. I will cont. to post some more experience with it, splitting bigger stuff, weight and longterm use, one hand use etc.
