My first impression from yesterday's camp is great. This hatchet came with a polished mirror edge, shaving sharp, the edge thickness is perfect for chopping/splitting logs and the head is also heavy enough for that purpose, quite head heavy actually. Still fine enough to do whittling, wood shavings, fuzzy sticks etc., although again, it's better suited for tougher stuff! The overall weight is the upper limit of what I'd like to carry when backpacking. No edge degradation at all so far but I did not do much either yet. This 1060 head was differentially heat treated.
You can tell right away, this hatchet was made by someone who honors this craft!! Great job Lisa!!

So, so far I am very pleased/impressed with it. I will cont. to post some more experience with it, splitting bigger stuff, weight and longterm use, one hand use etc.

I only used the GB mini hatchet and I loved it. See my thread "Camp knife vs. axe". The mini hatchet is much smaller and lighter, likely better for fine whittling and such but for splitting firewood the WCF is the better one.

I drooled over that one. Glad you picked it up and it's workin out! Post up more picks when you have em please.

Awestib, Im very glad you like it and glad to see it made it there ok..
Double Ott, I normally sell here on bladeforums "for sale" section but I occasionally do take special orders..I try not to take to many because I only have so much time to devote to the shop and special orders..If your looking for something in particular you can PM me here or email me..I hope to make these hatchets a regular item..Customers seem to like them so far and the 1060 we ordered seems to hold up very well..
Im working on a smaller hatchet for a customer right now with a 12" handle..

Thank you for your reply. I have admired your work for awhile now and have searched (Googled) your work with little luck finding your hawks. I'm a axe/hatchet guy, with around 130+ of them, but only one hawk that I purchased 10+ years ago for a throwing competition. I'm in the market for a nice hawk like the one above, or a nice poll hawk. I'm sure you'll be hearing from me.

Thanks again, Double Ott

EDIT: Lisa, I sent you an email request. Hope that you can help me out, Regards, Tom
