UPDATE: The blades for everyone on bladeforums are done, please read last post

I'm in the same boat as Phillip Patton here, if this doesnt belong here please delete.

Here's the scoop on these blades. They are made from 1075 high carbon steel and are laser cut to shape so all the blades are pretty much exactly the same profile. I grind them by hand, heat treat and temper them, then i finish grind and put a satin finish on them. I drill 2 3/16" holes for handle pins (i can take those out to 1/4" by request) and i also sharpen them before they are shipped. I ship USPS priority to the U.S. and Global priority overseas. they are about 8.5" overall with 4" blade (about 3.5" sharpened)

I am not taking money at this time, i'm just taking names of those who want them. the price is $40 each, shipping to the U.S. will be $5, shipping over seas will be $9

To sign up just post here saying how many you would like and i'll keep a list here in this 1st post. I'll start these in about 2 weeks (give or take a few days)

Thanks

Here is a photo of what they look like:

No, no markings.
Is it possible to have "L Voorhies" marking by preference? You know that it surely carry important value during talk show among local knives enthusiasts.

I'm sorry, i've been selling so many of these and some people have done a great job finishing them but i dont really want my name on someone elses work. I will put some thought into something that will identify the blade as being made by me but i cant promise anything on that.

You've done all the work on the blade, so you deserve the credit. One possibility, to avoid someone from passing it off as one of your complete knives, is to stamp it as

Blade by Les Voorhies

Further differentiation could be made by using a different font than you use on your own knives.

I've started working on these today, tey should be done by the end of next week at the latest.

I've just finished drilling all of the blades and i think i need to revise my estimated time of completion I think we're looking at sometime the week after next.

Friday I got all the blades plus some extras drilled. i did drill a few with 1/8" holes for bolsters (see photo below) I'll be taking some of the holes to 1/4" for those who requested it. I'll start grinding Monday morning provided my belts show up. When i see how long it takes to do the initial grind on all the blades then i'll have an idea about how long it will take to finish them all. Here are some photos:

WARNING: if you cant stand blood, dont look at the fourth picture :(
