I forged this from a 1 inch bar of 1080 steel from the New Jersey Steel Baron because I wanted to use a known steel, not an old piece of farm equipment or junk steel. I normalized three times and used an interrupted quench creating an edge with a hardness of Rc 58-60 which will need to be sharpened with a stone, a file will skate on the edge. The edge geometry is the same as I would use on a large chopper.
The handle is slightly figured hickory, 19 inches long.
The head is 6 inches long with a 3 inch cutting edge.

SOLD shipped within the US. My PayPal and email address is gldrewknives@gmail.com

The axe will be shipped with a simple leather edge protector.
