I bought some 1080+ from Alpha Knife Supply a while ago. I tried to pull a hamon off of it, but it ends up being a straight line with not much activity. On the other hand, it cuts well. This piece was clay quenched and etched. The knife was etched and shows a hamon line, although it is straight as mentioned. It is sharpened like a razor.
The handle is Bocote. It is made to fit in the palm of the hand well. When a fist is made around the handle, it seems to just disappear. It is actually quite comfortable. It is held in place with pins and G-flex epoxy.
The sheath is 7-8oz leather from Wickett and Craig. It is specifically designed for this knife and it fits well. It draws with a pinch grip on the handle quite easily.
Dimensions
Blade - 3 3/8" tip to the front of the hole
OAL - 7 1/4"
Price - $225 shipped to US. I will ship internationally for an additional fee.
I have this posted elsewhere, so the first timestamp saying "I'll take it" gets it.
