I'm calling this general profile the Cub.
1080 steel, 1/8" thick
7 7/8" long, ~3" blade
Single sided grind with double bevel final edge. Shaving sharp edge.
Finish is a near mirror as seen in the pics, with a hard wax covering to protect the steel. This continues under the cord wrap.
Cordwrap is NOT glued or sealed for easy changes by the owner. There is a notch toward the butt that keeps it from sliding backwards during use.
Black leather sheath is included, but this guy is well suited to other options as well, including a neck sheath.
Price is $60 +shipping. I generally ship USPS Priority mail with insurance and delivery confirmation which would be $8

I designed this to be a small but comfortable and easy to use knife. Suitable for a huge variety of tasks at home and in the field. It's scary sharp with a good durable edge rather than the absolute razor thin design I sometimes do on knives this size. It's still thin, but will survive a bit more rough use before damaging the edge. I rarely do a polished finish so this is a bit of a departure in that regard. It looks very nice with the multi-color wrap. This is one bright and distinctive knife. The first pic is the most accurate in terms of color and such, the others were taken outside and the sky and environment are reflecting in the steel.

More huh? Actually, I probably will soon. I'm working on a few larger knives at the moment but I personally like this general design and enjoy making it more than some of the others.

Dingle.....sometimes even a blind squirrel..........:D.

Thanks again Remy.....back from scoutin'.

I personally find any blade over 3 1/2in. not of any more use than a 2 3/4 - 3 1/8in blade. I use these length blades on deer (150-200lbs.) and elk (500-800lbs), interchangeably. 'Course, I've never been on a bear's menu or radar either......, whereas a stout, long bladed Bowie would feel much more comfortable, in hand. But a 4in. .44MAG trumps any length blade and I'm rarely afield without one.

Outside of a filet and necker knife, all my other purchases on BF have been drop point "hunter's" with blades from 2 3/4 - 4in. long. This knife will be used primarily as advertised......as a skinner. This is my 2nd custom BF's skinner which I also purchased due to my son hunting with me, but not always in close proximity.

For this and many other reasons, this knife and blade length perfectly fits my needs............IMHO and IMHE. Not necessary to chance perforating side walls, no matter how careful one is (especially when dark and visibility is hindered), when the % of doing so is much, much less with the aforementioned lengths which I find useful.....YMMV, as should always be the case.

Great design.........all around......;).
