Camp Knife with Dyed Leather Sheath

This is a great camp knife done in the old western scalper design. I use the sister of this knife as one of my camp favorites. Scalpers where give their name many years ago. The original design was a simple trade knife imported into the new world by the many thousands for use by early settlers and were traded to local indian tribes.

1/8" carbon steel 1084 blade 7" long 1 1/2" wide with a nice hamon. The hamon is from a differential quench leaving the back soft and the edge hard, edge is about 58-59 Rc.

Handle is a layered wood compositl and Loveless style bolts 5 1/4" long. Its a very strong handle with nice grain. Blade is glued and screwed into place never to move.

Sheath is a heavy leather with a nice finish which hangs low on the belt.

Price is $125.00 which includes shipping in USA.

The hamon is visable on this picture but shows much better in hand. You can see where the steel was dipped into the quench making the difference in grain between the edge and the back.
