1084 source?

whare do you guys get your 1084 /1086

I believe Kelly Cupples has 1086.

I think Kelly has 1086 in somewhat larger sizes, and he also has 1080 in bars suitable in size for either stock removal or forging (at least he did a few weeks ago when I ordered some from him.) I had previously assumed that 1080, 1084, and 1086 were all pretty much the same thing, but now I'm not so sure about that. I guess I could Google them for their chemistry to know for sure!

Kelly sells Hot Roller 1080. Aldo does not sell 1084 in stock removal thicknesses unless you are making a huge beater.

Am I right in thinking that 1080/1084 would be better suited to contact with hardish materials(like bone, and armor) wile still having a slimer profile grind vs say 5160, wich may tend to roll, yet wouldn't chip out as easy as something like say w1 ?
