Nice work! You know you are practically giving this away don't ya? Some one is going to be lucky.

Beautiful knife. A question though: does 1084v just have a dash of vanadium, compared to regular 1084? I've never heard of that alloy before. Thanks!

The 1084v comes form the steel baron himself Aldo Bruno, it seriously some of the best stuff I have ever used, Great stuff to forge, just all around great steel

For you information, the 1084 if FG not V steel. Fine grain is achieved with on.020 to .025 Vanadium. The V steel is only .040 vanadium and not easy to find, but only because 1084 is an accumulative load that only gets smelt when they have enough sold to justify making it. You will find 1080 with the extra vanadium in it but tough to come by as well. You might see it listed as 10V80.

Aldo

PS - By the way Charlie, nice piece! Will I see you at Batson's next week? This is my 3rd Pilgrimage. It's worth all 2000 miles to get there and back. Hope you make it, you have NO excuss not to!
