Maybe someone can help. I have some 1090c 3/8 stock. Im thinking of having the primary bevels machined with a 5" end mill. As i have it drawn out the blade is 1 5/8" edge to spine. I think (dangerous waters) this thickness and width with the mills very flat v "grind" render a 7 deg per side or 14 deg inclusive primary bevel angle. I would also like to reduce the spine thickness to 11/32 , or thereabouts, so i can play with the angles a little bit. is this angle on this width of blade too thick? (aside from the fact i have never seen a 3/8" thick knife). The handle will be bare and skeletonized. any thoughts would be welcome.
