This is forged from a piece of 1095 bar. I clay coated the edge for a nice hamon and I was able to capture it well in some of the pictures. The Spine is fileworked.

The bolster area is african blackwood. It is very dark but some deep brown grains can be seen in it. It is paired with bone. Everything is held together with pins and acraglas. It is contoured nicely to fit the hand comfortably.

The sheath is 8-9oz leather from Wickett and Craig. It is hand tooled and fits very well yet still draws easily.

Dimensions
Blade - 4 3/4" tip to handle
OAL - 9 5/8"

Price - $245 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

I wanted to take this, and was only asking a question, then it's gone. That's really fast.

Guess you have to shoot before ask?

Sometimes you have to shoot first and ask questions later. The deal can always be undone if it's not the right blade for you.

Matt's knives tend to fly off the X very quickly!

Knice one, Matt!

Sorry, Guaise. I put that little "first to post "I'll take it" gets it" statement in my post, because I have gotten in trouble before. Someone had sent me an email saying they wanted it, and when I responded to them and told them it was theirs, someone else had posted here on the forum "I'll take it". I had to tell him he couldn't have it even though his was the first I'll take it post. I started that little disclaimer in my threads after that.

Not a problem, Matt, just a reminder to myself to pull the trigger first next time.

Also congratulations, you do make some really nice stuff.

Hey Guaise, I am sorry if I took it from underneath you. I want it, but if it is something you cannot live without maybe we could work something out.

Forgot to add, this is an awesome knife. I have seen the last two knives you have posted and I am definately interested in buying one from you in the very near future. I think you do outstanding work.

That is outstanding, Sir, the mark of a true gentleman. Kudos to you and may we have many more like you!

Thank you for the offer, but as Matt said, you were the first one who posted "I will take it". I will just remember to be faster next time.

Have fun with your new blade.

Wow Matt. Stunning piece. Would sure like it with a 8" blade and a LH cross draw sheath. HINT HINT....again.

You do stunning work Matt. I may ask you to make me a special "retirement knife" someday in the next year or 2, if you would want to do something like that. I REALLY love your designs but have something in mind that would be mostly all you but a little me too. You are within driving distance to me. I am around the Batavia NY area.
