Got the bug to get something done today, got in the shop and christened my Chuck Robinson anvil with it's first hammering, I grabbed some 1095 and forged out a sort of cleaver. I found my Satanite in the move of all my stuff out of the garage so we could get a slab and footer poured so I decided to try my hand at a hamon on it. IT WORKED! Quenched in Park's, it got a bit more forward curve in the process and the hamon is very nice! It is in the oven tempering now, should have some pictures later tonight.

Good Deal Sam!! Welcome to the never ending quest for the hamon, It will soon drive you crazy,LOL Look forward to the pictures,Charlie

I can probably say it's the sharpest edge I have put on any blade, and it has VERY fine edge geometry, very scary! Going to do a base of leather and parachord wrap over that, not sure on black or deep red or some camo type stuff.

Thanks guys. Phil, it's good to finish things :) The more I play with this one the more I think it would be awesome to do a sword size version.

If he quenched it in water it would have curved the right way !!

That thing is wicked. Now shaving King Kong's balls won't be too troublesome. :)

I like the leather and paracord; do you put anything on it when it's done or just leave it natural?

Mostly leave it natural. When I am doing the parachord wrap though, everytime I do a cross over I pull it as tight as I can and drip superglue on the cross over, and let it dry before I go to the next cross over. The whole thing is in super tight tension as each fold is glue when it is pulled super tight, and then I drop a good amount of glue on each side and the folds again to solidify it all.
